Background Information of the Organization 
 
LCVS was established on 13-02-2008 at Almora, Uttarakhand, India and further registered under societies Registration Act 21 of 1860 on 28-08-2010, as a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and secular organization, it is incorporated as a Society.
LCVS has been working at grass root level since its formation, towards rural drinking water, Rural Sanitation, Formation of women Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), Sector Wide Approach Program ( SWAP, (A World Bank Supported Project for Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation), Micro Insurance ( with LIC of India), Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), With Uttarakhand Health Department), IWMP (Integrated Watershed Management Program) project, integrated development of women, children, poor and marginalized communities in remote hill areas of Almora/ Bageshwar & Nainital districts. LCVS has its strong presence in Almora & surrounding districts in a short period.
The Management body of LCVS is very effective and transparent, led by its Secretary, Mr. R.S, Bisht, who has 18 years working experience in different social organization. LCVS succeeded in acquiring a set of dedicated staff members. The staff of LCVS is committed constantly rendering their duty to accomplish the aim and objectives of the organization. We strive to ensure basic rights and sustainable development of the target population lying across rural and urban areas in Uttarakhand. LCVS wish to work to ensure the participation of women at all levels of development, planning, practice and act as a catalyst within the system.
 
Vision 
Our vision is of creating an environment where all people, regardless of cast, color, background and ability can grow, make choices and be valued and contributing members of our community. In the vision, we see the welfare of all people being vested in the welfare of each individual.
 
Mission
Our mission is to serve the needy population of Uttarakhand & other states of India with collective action through self determination for sustainable development and to work with poor and needy people to eradicate, discrimination and injustice.
