LCVS was established on 13-02-2008 at Almora, Uttarakhand, India and further registered under societies Registration Act 21 of 1860 on 28-08-2010, as a voluntary, non-profit, non-political and secular organization, it is incorporated as a Society.
LCVS has been working at grass root level since its formation, towards rural drinking water, Rural Sanitation, Formation of women Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), Sector Wide Approach Program ( SWAP, (A World Bank Supported Project for Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation), Micro Insurance ( with LIC of India), Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP), With Uttarakhand Health Department), IWMP (Integrated Watershed Management Program) project, integrated development of women, children, poor and marginalized communities in remote hill areas of Almora/ Bageshwar & Nainital districts
